Description

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for implementing HR programs and providing support to business clients on all people-related matters. This role aims to enhance the growth and profitability of the business by managing employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and compliance with HR policies and regulations. The HR Generalist will work closely with leadership and employees to foster a positive work environment and ensure effective HR operations.

Responsibilities and Duties

Collaborates with managers on HR strategies, including identifying current and future talent needs, recruitment methods to attract diverse talent, and talent development. Advises site management on talent-related matters to support business goals such as employee engagement, workforce planning, data trends, and policy matters. Evaluates management capabilities and identifies business development opportunities. Provides feedback and mentorship to managers. Leads Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion initiatives, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for a diverse workforce. Participates in site and corporate projects, teams, and process improvement initiatives. Supports Flex Culture, Ways of Working, and Business Expertise. Offers guidance to managers on change management related to organizational culture. Acts as a consultant to hiring managers on trends in HR management, labor laws, and HR policies to ensure desired outcomes. Manages the employee life cycle, including onboarding, orientations, annual reviews, merit increases, separations, and exits. Develops local recruitment programs and manages associated budgets. Builds and maintains a network of contacts, participating in job fairs, school visits, and other outreach efforts. Counsels management on policy interpretation and legal compliance. Investigates and advises on policy violations and local labor law matters. Helps resolve employee relations issues to ensure a positive workplace. Creates programs aimed at improving employee satisfaction and retaining key talent while reducing liability risks. Ensures compliance with legal record-keeping requirements and communicates necessary information to relevant departments. Partners with Total Rewards to manage compensation and benefits programs. Administers local benefit programs, ensuring compliance with government regulations and reporting requirements. Supports global HR initiatives at the local level, aligning with HR Centers of Excellence. Communicates and educates employees on site-specific programs and initiatives. Contributes to program design and conducts post-mortem reviews. Participates in or manages employee sustainability initiatives and local sustainability events.

Qualifications and Requirements

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience in a Human Resources-related field is typically required. Usually requires 2 years of experience in Human Resources or a related area. Possesses an understanding of how HR functions impact work processes and other departments. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from production staff to executives. Responds to employee concerns and inquiries from regulatory agencies.
