Description
This leadership position is responsible for creating and implementing people strategies across Singapore and Southeast Asia, covering various business units. This includes collaborating with senior management to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, developing and retaining talent, and implementing local employee experience and learning initiatives. The role also involves establishing strong partnerships with external specialists in areas such as talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, and employment law to ensure effective HR service delivery. The HR leader will also act as a unifying force within the Singapore HR team, promoting a strong sense of teamwork.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Collaborate with senior leadership teams to formulate key workforce strategies and objectives that are closely aligned with business priorities. * Actively contribute to key management meetings, providing HR insights for strategic business initiatives, long-term planning, and budget development. * Partner with talent acquisition specialists to ensure a steady flow of qualified candidates to meet business needs. * Play a key role in core HR processes such as talent reviews, compensation planning, performance management, and succession planning. * Identify employee learning and development needs and utilize internal and external resources to provide relevant training programs. * Advise business leaders, managers, and employees on all aspects of employee and organizational development. * Oversee the implementation of corporate training programs. * Collaborate with HR colleagues across the broader organization to drive projects and achieve desired outcomes. * Lead organizational change management efforts in response to evolving business strategies. * When necessary, manage HR due diligence and provide transaction support for mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures, including integration and change management activities. * Provide HR leadership and guidance to employees and managers on employee relations matters, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues and grievances. * Offer counsel and support to employees and managers regarding work-related challenges and proactively work towards positive solutions. * Manage and communicate HR policies; develop and implement HR practices and procedures that address business needs and comply with relevant local laws. * Collaborate with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment that promotes the full utilization of diverse talents and abilities. * Develop and implement action plans based on employee feedback surveys and manage employee engagement and communication activities. * Ensure operational excellence in HR data management, HR systems, payroll coordination, onboarding, and offboarding processes to create a desirable employee experience. * Provide leadership and oversight of the local HR team's daily operations. * Provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance the HR team's skills and capabilities.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Must have the right to work in Singapore. * Willingness to travel for business purposes as required. * Comfortable working within a global, matrix organizational structure. * Thorough understanding and extensive experience with employment law in Singapore and Southeast Asia, as well as experience in leading change management initiatives. * Ability to identify key priorities and effectively execute on them. * Experience operating at a leadership level within a business, as a key member of the leadership team. * Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals and communication styles and build strong relationships at all levels, responding effectively and promptly to internal and external stakeholders. * Ability to quickly establish credibility and communicate effectively to foster trusted relationships with senior leaders. * Experience working in a creative, fast-paced, and globally matrixed organization. * Results-oriented, creative, and resourceful approach to work.
