Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our kitchen team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing food items within an assigned section of the kitchen, following established recipes and ensuring our guests consistently enjoy high-quality dishes that meet our standards. You will play a vital part in maintaining an efficient and hygienic kitchen environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Set up your designated work area according to established standards before each meal period. * Prepare all food items required for your section to meet our quality standards. * Minimize food waste during all stages of preparation. * Assist the Head Chef with the preparation of various food items as needed. * Store and handle food items according to strict hygiene standards. * Contribute to a positive and productive work environment among colleagues. * Understand and adhere to all food hygiene regulations, particularly those related to fresh fish preparation and service. * Be prepared to work in different sections of the kitchen as required by your supervisor. * Develop familiarity with all kitchen sections to support flexibility within the team. * Ensure that all operating and kitchen equipment is well-maintained and report any issues promptly. * Break down and clean your workstation thoroughly at the end of each meal period, storing food correctly. * Ensure that all kitchen and food preparation areas are completely clean when unattended. * Operate and perform basic maintenance on all kitchen machinery and tools according to guidelines. * Report for duty on time and in the correct uniform. * Provide courteous and professional service at all times. * Maintain clear and effective communication with all supervisors and team members to ensure smooth operations. * Comply with all relevant workplace legislation. * Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times. * Foster positive working relationships with staff across all departments. * Attend all required meetings as directed by management. * Fully understand and comply with the company’s policies on Fire safety, Hygiene, Health, and General Safety. * Be thoroughly familiar with the company’s employee handbook and adhere to all regulations. * Undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned or as deemed necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Ability to follow standard recipes and preparation guidelines accurately. * A commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and consistency. * Awareness of and adherence to strict food hygiene and safety practices. * Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from the Head Chef and supervisors. * Good organizational skills to manage your workstation and tasks efficiently. * Basic understanding of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance. * Punctuality and a professional demeanor. * Good communication skills. * A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and contribute to the team. * Ability to perform physical tasks associated with food preparation and kitchen duties.
