Description
We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Chef de Partie to join our dynamic culinary team. In this role, you will be instrumental in overseeing the preparation of meals in accordance with established menu guidelines, production timelines, and cyclical menus. You will also be empowered to plan, decide, and execute meal preparation based on client needs, particularly when the Sous Chef is unavailable. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage inventory, uphold stringent food safety standards, and contribute to the efficient operation of the kitchen.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Oversee the preparation of meals, ensuring they align with menu specifications, production schedules, and the menu cycle. * Possess the capability to plan, make informed choices, and prepare meals according to specific client requests, especially in the absence of the Sous Chef. * Conduct ordering based on anticipated needs and adhere to proper stock management and rotation practices (following FIFO principles). * Ensure that all production staff comply with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, Medina standards) and all hygiene protocols. * Assist in the creation of staff schedules and the assignment of duties as needed. * Monitor the functionality of kitchen machinery and equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
Qualifications and Requirements
* A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience within the food and beverage sector of a hotel. * Proficiency in using computers and related software relevant to the role (e.g., inventory management systems), including the ability to interpret digital worksheets and manage email communications during work hours. * A solid understanding of food hygiene and proper food handling procedures. * Demonstrated knowledge in various food preparation techniques. * The ability to collaborate effectively within a large team comprising individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. * Comfortable with working rotating shifts as part of a six-day work week.
