Description

We are seeking a dedicated culinary professional to join our team as a Sous Chef. This role is crucial in supporting the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, and fostering a productive kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a passion for culinary excellence.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Participate in pre-service briefings to understand daily tasks and updates from the lead chef. * Support and oversee the food preparation and cooking processes, guaranteeing that all dishes meet our established quality standards. * Guide and supervise kitchen staff, promoting efficient workflow and teamwork. * Manage inventory levels and place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed. * Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring all dishes are presented to the highest standards. * Ensure all kitchen equipment is in proper working order and report any maintenance needs. * Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all safety and hygiene regulations. * Collaborate with the lead chef to develop new menu items and daily specials. * Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support. * Enforce all health and safety guidelines related to food handling, storage, and sanitation. * Assist in preparing and presenting dishes for special events and large gatherings. * Cultivate a positive and professional atmosphere within the kitchen, encouraging teamwork. * Ensure proper storage of food and ingredients, adhering to all food safety standards. * Maintain consistent food quality and service during busy periods. * Adhere to all workplace safety and security protocols, reporting any incidents promptly. * Actively participate in and contribute to company sustainability and community initiatives. * Complete any additional tasks as directed by the Executive Chef. **Requirements:** * Demonstrated experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a high-volume kitchen. * Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques. * Proven ability to effectively manage and motivate kitchen staff. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Keen attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. * Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. * A positive and service-oriented attitude with a focus on team success. * Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
