Description

We are looking for a dedicated Sous Chef to support both counter food preparation and kitchen operations at a Japanese fine dining restaurant in Orchard. The role requires strong knowledge of Japanese seasonal produce, meticulous attention to detail in food preparation, and the ability to deliver excellent service and professionalism while working closely with the Head Chef. Responsibilities and Duties

* Assist Head Chef with counter food preparation, presentation, and kitchen operations * Explain Japanese fine dining dishes and seasonal produce to guests at the counter * Ensure careful and precise food preparation according to Japanese culinary standards * Check freshness and quality of ingredients at all times * Assist in staff meal preparation and dishwashing when required * Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and operational readiness * Support efficient teamwork across kitchen and service staff * Carry out additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications and Requirements

* Minimum 3 years of culinary experience, preferably in Japanese fine dining * Strong understanding of Japanese seasonal produce and cuisine * Humble, honest, and willing to learn with a positive attitude * Good teamwork and communication skills * High standards of hygiene and personal cleanliness * Ability to perform consistently in a fast-paced environment
