We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Sous Chef to join our esteemed culinary team. In this vital role, you will work closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to lead and inspire our pastry and bakery operations, creating exceptional sweet creations that blend international and local influences. We are looking for an innovative and skilled artisan who is dedicated to precision, creativity, and maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship. You will also play a key role in fostering a safe, hygienic, and efficient kitchen environment, and in the absence of the Executive Pastry Chef, you will provide strong leadership to the department.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Support the daily operations of the pastry and bakery kitchen, ensuring consistent excellence in product quality and presentation. * Coach, mentor, and develop the pastry team, fostering their professional growth and skill enhancement. * Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment that aligns with our core values. * Drive innovation and creativity within the team, constantly seeking to elevate the guest experience through exceptional pastry offerings. * Uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene, adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies. * Monitor and manage food and labor costs effectively without compromising the exceptional quality of our products. * Address guest and internal concerns promptly and professionally, always prioritizing care and guest satisfaction. * Engage with guests to create memorable and delightful dining experiences. * Assume full leadership of the pastry department in the absence of the Executive Pastry Chef, ensuring seamless continuity in quality, operations, and team management.
Qualifications and Requirements
* A minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Pastry Sous Chef within a luxury establishment. * Excellent and current knowledge of both international and local pastry and dessert techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles. A strong understanding of the local palate is essential. * A creative and innovative approach to menu development, coupled with a deep passion for the art of pastry. * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the team and interact with guests. * Strong organizational and time-management abilities to manage a dynamic kitchen environment. * A high level of energy and creativity, with the capacity to thrive in a demanding and fast-paced setting.
