They are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Director of Banquet Operations to lead and oversee banquet operations, ensuring excellence in service, profitability, and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities and Duties
Business Performance: - Set and manage banquet budgets and forecasts. - Analyze P&L and month-end reports to identify variances and implement corrective actions. - Ensure strict adherence to the department’s operational budget. - Participate in management meetings to review business plan progress and support annual planning. Banquet Operations: - Oversee care, security, and maintenance of banquet equipment, including contractors’ operations. - Supervise shift operations, including VIP and special functions, ensuring accurate handovers and updates. - Inspect banquet servers’ assignments, function rooms, and public areas to maintain standards. - Coordinate with catering sales and culinary teams to review BEOs, confirm requirements, and enhance food quality and presentation. - Plan manpower requirements based on revenue projections and ensure optimal staffing levels. - Maintain banquet policies, safety procedures, and compliance standards. - Monitor inventory and maintain proper stock levels of equipment and supplies. Team Management: - Recruit, train, and develop banquet employees. - Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching for professional growth. - Prepare weekly staff schedules and payroll-related reports. - Lead monthly departmental meetings to communicate goals, address feedback, and resolve operational issues. - Ensure team professionalism, appearance, and adherence to service standards. - Maintain organization and cleanliness of banquet areas in collaboration with Housekeeping, Engineering, and Hygiene teams.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar leadership role, preferably within a 5-star hotel. - Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team development skills. - Proven ability to manage budgets, P&L, and manpower planning. - Excellent communication, organizational, and numeracy skills. - Professional presentation and ability to build strong rapport with clients and teams. - Willingness to work weekends and public holidays. - Commitment to continuous learning and development.
