The Director, MICE assists in leading the property’s segmented sales efforts (group, transient, association, corporate, etc.). This role supports the implementation of sales strategies, achievement of revenue goals, and delivery of exceptional guest and employee satisfaction. Responsibilities and Duties
*Developing & Executing Sales Strategies* * Collaborate with sales leader to implement sales strategies effectively. * Support solicitation programs to increase business opportunities. * Contribute to sales plan addressing revenue, customers, and markets. * Assist in developing and executing promotional initiatives. *Maximizing Revenue* * Provide leadership to achieve maximum revenue potential. * Recommend booking goals for sales team members. *Managing Sales Activities* * Approve space release for catering to maximise revenue in absence of Business Evaluation Manager. * Participate in sales calls to acquire and close new business. * Manage operational aspects of booked business (proposals, contracts, correspondence). *Analyzing & Reporting* * Analyse market information using sales systems to support financial and catering goals. * Assist Revenue Management with accurate forecasting. * Review guest satisfaction results to identify and implement improvements. *Customer Service Excellence* * Exemplify customer service and set a standard for guest relations. * Interact with guests for feedback during pre- and post-event meetings. * Empower employees to deliver outstanding service. * Observe and coach employee service behaviours. * Ensure customer recognition programs are in place. * Execute brand service standards and daily basics of service. * Build strong customer relationships by understanding and addressing their business needs. *Building Successful Relationships* * Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, internally and externally. * Collaborate with off-property sales channels to align efforts. * Work with HR, Engineering, and Loss Prevention to ensure compliance with regulations. * Represent the hotel at customer events, trade shows, and sales missions to strengthen relationships.
Qualifications and Requirements
*Education & Experience* * 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel/Restaurant Management, or related major; plus 3 years’ experience in sales/marketing or related professional area. * OR 4-year bachelor’s degree in a related field; plus 1 year experience in sales/marketing or related professional area.
