We are in search of a highly skilled and motivated Head Chef to oversee all kitchen operations with a focus on excellence in food quality, hygiene, and team performance. Responsibilities and Duties
*Oversee daily kitchen operations with a focus on food safety, hygiene standards, and overall team performance *Lead the preparation process to ensure efficiency, timeliness, and high-quality output *Innovate or execute dishes that align with brand standards and seasonal demands *Review and approve final plating before dishes leave the kitchen *Develop and adapt menus based on seasonal availability, customer feedback, and business strategy *Train and mentor the culinary team to uphold the highest cooking and presentation standards *Manage inventory with minimal waste and optimal stock rotation practices *Forecast staffing needs and manage schedules to align with labor budgets *Source, handle, and store food supplies within budget constraints while maximizing profitability *Ensure miseen place and kitchen prep are properly arranged for smooth service flow *Keep accurate records of staff attendance, punctuality, and payroll data *Rigorously implement food safety and cleanliness protocols at all times *Stay up-to-date on new culinary techniques, equipment, and kitchen innovations *Enforce regulations regarding food storage, hygiene, pest control, and staff illness reporting *Maintain and update recipe documentation to support consistency and training
Qualifications and Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related discipline *Minimum of 5 years in a professional kitchen environment, with at least some experience in a leadership role *Completed recognized food safety training such as WSQ Food Safety Course Levels 1 & 2 *Demonstrated strength in managing kitchen teams and food operations *Strong communication and leadership abilities *Quick to grasp new ideas with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills *Comfortable using POS systems, kitchen management software, and Microsoft Office tools
