Description
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen of a premium Japanese Omakase restaurant. The role requires expertise in Edomae techniques, menu curation, and ingredient sourcing, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, artistry, and guest experience. Responsibilities and Duties
* Lead and supervise the Omakase kitchen team * Design and execute seasonal menus aligned with brand philosophy * Source and manage premium Japanese ingredients, focusing on seasonality * Ensure food quality, hygiene, and safety standards are upheld * Collaborate with management and service teams to create exceptional dining experiences * Train and mentor junior chefs in traditional and modern Japanese techniques * Manage food costs, efficiency, and waste reduction without compromising quality * Represent the restaurant at exclusive events and media features
Qualifications and Requirements
* 8–10 years of culinary experience, with at least 5 years in Omakase or Michelin-starred restaurants * Expertise in Edomae sushi and Japanese fine dining techniques * Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management skills * Deep knowledge of Japanese culinary culture and seasonal ingredients * Proficiency in English; Japanese language skills are an advantage * High discipline, attention to detail, and dedication to excellence
