Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chef de Partie to manage specific kitchen operations and expertly handle food preparation for the individuals we serve, as well as our staff, within a care home setting. This role involves supporting senior chefs in the daily running of the kitchen, ensuring the timely and proper preparation of meals, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Support the Sous Chef in various kitchen operations, including stock management and food preparation. * Ensure all food is prepared to the required standards for residents/clients and staff. * Ensure timely delivery of meals according to established schedules for breakfast, breaks, lunch, and dinner. * Maintain strict compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring a clean and sanitary kitchen environment. * Regularly inspect kitchen equipment, inventory, and workspaces for safety and cleanliness. * Manage and track kitchen inventory effectively. * Supervise and provide training to new kitchen team members. * Perform any other duties as directed by the Manager or Management.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Diploma in Culinary Arts, Food & Beverage Management, or a similar field of study. * A minimum of four years of practical experience in a kitchen, restaurant, or related food service business. * Previous experience cooking within a nursing home or healthcare industry setting is considered a plus. * Solid understanding of food preparation standards and relevant certification requirements. * Excellent culinary and food presentation skills, with a keen eye for detail. * Thorough knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations. * Experience in preparing a diverse range of cuisines, with knowledge of Chinese, Malay, and Western cooking being advantageous. * Possess a valid Food Handler certification. * Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite. * Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities. * Good command of the English language, both spoken and written. * Ability to work effectively both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
