Description
Started in the year 1850 in Fukui (Japan) and now helmed by Chef Nishi, the 6th generation in his family line. Nishikane is a Kappo Omakase restaurant in the heart of Singapore serving monthly menus featuring the best of season's harvest and catch, especially air-flown weekly from selected markets in Japan.
Responsibilities and Duties
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in traditional sushi preparation and plating, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. ・Prepare and present sushi dishes (nigiri, maki, sashimi, etc.) to the highest standards ・Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi bar and kitchen ・Manage inventory and ensure freshness of fish and other ingredients ・Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team on seasonal menus ・Interact with customers when necessary, explaining dishes or making recommendations
Qualifications and Requirements
・10 years of Sushi experience (Fine dining-preferred) ・Deep knowledge of traditional Japanese sushi preparation ・Strong knife skills and understanding of food hygiene standards ・Ability to work efficiently under pressure ・Team player with a positive attitude
