Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated culinary professional to take on a key role within our kitchen team. This position involves overseeing a specific kitchen section, ensuring the consistent preparation of high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with a passion for culinary excellence, capable of supporting junior colleagues, contributing creative ideas, and maintaining the highest levels of food safety and hygiene. This role requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional culinary experiences.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Supervise a designated kitchen area, such as the grill, sauté, or cold station, guaranteeing that all dishes are prepared according to specified recipes and quality benchmarks. * Collaborate effectively with other culinary team members to ensure seamless coordination and clear communication across all kitchen operations. * Provide active support during peak service times by efficiently managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively. * Proactively share and suggest innovative recipe ideas with the Executive Chef to foster a culture of culinary creativity. * Ensure that food standards, preparation methods, presentation, temperature control, and cooking techniques consistently meet the highest standards, and enforce kitchen policies and procedures. * Guarantee the quality and consistency of all food items by strictly adhering to established guidelines. * Follow proper food handling and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. * Monitor the levels of food stock and communicate with management to ensure timely replenishment, preventing shortages or overstocking. * Mentor junior kitchen staff on essential culinary techniques, safety procedures, and kitchen protocols. * Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines. * Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained in good working order and report any issues to management promptly. * Participate in daily cleaning tasks, including thorough cleaning of equipment, surfaces, and storage areas, to maintain a sanitary kitchen environment. * Apply all necessary precautions related to food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP). * Report any health or safety hazards, incidents, and injuries to the immediate supervisor as soon as possible, including unsafe working conditions, equipment malfunctions, or maintenance needs. * Be thoroughly familiar with the establishment's fire and life safety emergency procedures. * Take ownership to ensure all required tasks are completed accurately and within the given timeframes. * Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, considering special requests or dietary restrictions when preparing their dishes. * Address any issues or discrepancies that may arise during service, such as equipment malfunctions, ingredient shortages, or guest complaints, with efficiency and professionalism. * Stay up-to-date on current culinary trends, techniques, and ingredients.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Candidate must hold at least a Professional Certificate/NiTEC, a culinary certificate, or possess equivalent qualifications. * A minimum of three years of proven working experience in a similar role within a professional kitchen environment. * Must be a strong team player with excellent team-building skills.
