Description
We are hiring a Junior Sous Chef to join a luxury hotel in the Orchard area. The role supports the Sous Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring food quality and presentation. This position provides the opportunity to contribute to menu development, mentor junior staff, and uphold high culinary standards in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Responsibilities and Duties
* Assist the Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations and staff supervision * Ensure dishes meet quality, taste, and presentation standards * Monitor inventory levels and support ordering of supplies * Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with food safety regulations * Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to improve skills and teamwork * Collaborate with the team on menu development and seasonal offerings * Ensure timely preparation and service during peak periods * Handle minor issues and maintain smooth kitchen workflow
Qualifications and Requirements
* Minimum 6 years of professional kitchen experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or senior cook role * Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cuisines * Leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities * Ability to perform under pressure in a high-volume kitchen * Certification in Culinary Arts or Food Safety preferred * Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
