Description

We are looking for an accomplished Finance Manager to lead and manage the financial operations of our Singapore office. This role involves guiding a team of finance professionals, ensuring accurate and efficient financial processes, and providing strategic financial insights to senior leadership. You will also collaborate with global teams, contributing to the overall success and growth of the organization.

Responsibilities and Duties

- Supervise daily finance activities, ensuring effective team structure and task allocation. - Oversee the preparation and submission of GST tax and withholding tax filings. - Implement improvements to financial processes, ensuring alignment with organizational best practices. - Manage working capital, including reviewing Work In Progress (WIP) and debtors with partners. - Approve operational expenses and cashier payments according to company policies. - Review and reconcile client and office account bank statements. - Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and compliance with Solicitors' Accounts Rules (SAR). - Conduct finance-related onboarding for new employees. - Provide coaching and mentoring to the finance team, promoting professional growth. - Review and finalize monthly management accounts as part of the organization’s reporting schedule. - Monitor and assess profit and loss (P&L) against budgetary goals, addressing variances with leadership. - Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process, including coordinating with partner firms. - Prepare and present periodic financial forecasts throughout the year. - Deliver monthly financial performance updates to Singapore partners. - Analyze monthly cash flow statements and conduct regular reviews of the balance sheet. - Oversee payroll postings on a monthly basis. - Manage the preparation and auditing of annual financial statements. - Ensure financial reporting aligns with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). - Prepare partner-related documentation, including profit allocations, drawings, and account summaries. - Work with tax advisors to complete annual tax returns and address tax-related matters like withholding taxes. - Create financial reports to support partner evaluations. - Liaise with the London partnership team on partner capital and current accounts. - Assist tax advisors with preparing partners’ tax returns. - Respond to information requests and generate ad hoc financial reports for the London office.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Exceptional analytical and reasoning skills, with the ability to perform well under pressure. - Adaptable, professional, and proactive work ethic. - Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a collaborative mindset. - Competent in presenting financial data to various stakeholders. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. - Flexibility to work extra hours when needed to meet deadlines. - Qualified accountant with extensive experience. - Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards. - Proven expertise in a senior finance role, preferably within an international law firm.
