An exciting opportunity awaits a talented and dedicated Pastry Sous Chef to support the leadership of pastry and bakery operations within a prestigious luxury hotel. This role involves overseeing the creation of exceptional pastries and baked goods, blending international and local culinary influences. We are seeking a passionate and skilled artisan who combines precision with creative flair. The Pastry Sous Chef will champion innovation, inspire the team to excel, and ensure the consistent delivery of the highest quality products. This role also involves maintaining exceptional food safety and hygiene practices and taking leadership of the department in the Executive Pastry Chef's absence. .
Responsibilities and Duties
* Support the daily functioning of the pastry and bakery kitchen, ensuring consistent product quality and presentation. * Coach, mentor, and develop the pastry team, focusing on their professional growth and skill enhancement. * Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment that aligns with established operational principles. * Encourage innovation and creativity within the team to continuously elevate the guest experience. * Uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with all relevant regulations and internal policies. * Monitor and manage food and labor costs effectively without compromising the quality of offerings. * Address any guest or internal concerns promptly and professionally, always with a focus on care and resolution. * Engage with guests to create memorable and personalized dining experiences.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Pastry Sous Chef within a high-end or luxury establishment. * Excellent knowledge of international and local pastry and dessert techniques, ingredients, and flavor combinations. A strong understanding of local tastes is crucial. * A creative and innovative approach to menu development, coupled with a deep passion for the pastry arts. * Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. * Strong organizational and time-management skills. * High energy levels and creativity, with the capacity to thrive in a dynamic kitchen setting. * Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including rotating split shifts, weekends, and holidays
