Description
The Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor supports the Housekeeping Manager in managing departmental operations, budgets, and staff to uphold housekeeping standards and ensure smooth operations. Responsibilities include supervising room and linen services, coordinating with Front Office and Maintenance teams, conducting inspections, addressing guest and staff concerns, managing special projects, and maintaining inventory and storage areas. The role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of housekeeping systems and procedures to deliver exceptional service quality and operational consistency.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Assist in budget preparation and management. * Supervise housekeeping standards for rooms, linen, cleaning, and valet services. * Recommend updates to procedures and identify training needs. * Resolve employee grievances and ensure departmental consistency. * Manage shift operations, including handovers and key distribution. * Maintain knowledge of housekeeping systems and perform room inspections. * Collaborate with Front Office and Maintenance for guest needs and defect resolution. * Oversee special projects (e.g., deep cleaning, inventories, vermin control). * Handle guest requests and manage lost and found items. * Monitor storage areas, stock levels, and conduct inventories. * Lead shift briefings to align on activities and operational needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Diploma or equivalent qualification. * At least 2 years of housekeeping experience, ideally in a similar-sized hotel. * Supervisory experience or relevant training is required. * Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, staff, and third parties. * Proficient in spoken, written, and reading English. * Skilled in Microsoft Office applications. * Demonstrates strong organizational and training capabilities.
