Description

As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that all public areas, food and beverage outlets, guestrooms, guest corridors, and back-of-house areas are maintained to the highest levels of cleanliness and functionality. In this role, you will lead by example and support the housekeeping team in delivering exceptional standards of service and cleanliness across all designated areas. Specifically, a Housekeeping Supervisor will be expected to perform the following duties with a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Assign rooms to room attendants for their designated floors, prioritizing cleaning based on operational needs. * Attend morning briefings for room attendants and supervisors. * Prepare daily briefing notes for supervisors. * Inspect vacant, occupied, checked-out, and out-of-service rooms (including those in the Perfect Room Program) on assigned floors, ensuring availability for Front Office as soon as possible. * Conduct daily performance evaluations for each room attendant. * Inspect guest floor corridors on assigned floors. * Inspect room attendants’ trolleys, pantries, and service areas on assigned floors. * Prepare and check VIP rooms. * Address guest requests and complaints. * Report maintenance issues immediately and follow up by shift’s end. * Supervise and inspect night turndown service by room attendants. * Report "privacy" and "make-up" room statuses to the Housekeeping Office. * Train, evaluate, and counsel team members; recommend disciplinary actions and identify training needs as necessary. * Ensure adherence to housekeeping instructions and procedures. * Report any unusual, suspicious, or irregular behaviors of guests and team members. * Report sightings of vermin for immediate action. * Ensure guest room flowers and plants are delivered or replaced and properly maintained. * Handle Lost & Found items promptly, reporting them to the Housekeeping Office. * Retrieve loaned items from guests upon departure. * Communicate and coordinate with other departments, including Reception, Engineering, Room Service, and Flower Shop. * Ensure all cleaning equipment is in working order. * Maintain awareness of emergency procedures. * Assist with room linen and setup inventory as needed. * Cover midnight shifts in the absence of the midnight supervisor. * Manage scheduling, assignment, training, and supervision of public area staff. * Inspect team members’ grooming, uniform cleanliness, and tidiness. * Oversee inventory for cleaning supplies and chemicals. * Coordinate with contractors for cleaning equipment maintenance. * Schedule and oversee pest control treatments. * Plan and supervise carpet and upholstery shampooing, floor waxing, marble crystallization, and window cleaning. * Maintain flowers and plants in F&B outlets and public areas. * Communicate hotel safety procedures to team members. * Inspect work by overnight cleaning contractors. * Liaise with contractors for special cleaning projects. * Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Strong knowledge and understanding of hotel operations * Well-versed in the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment * Excellent interpersonal skills * Ability to consistently work effectively under pressure * Strong communication skills * Positive attitude with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service * Minimum of two to three years of relevant experience in a luxury hotel setting
