Restaurant Captain / Floor Supervisor

A proactive and detail-oriented individual is needed to contribute to the seamless and enjoyable dining experience for our guests. This role focuses on supporting daily operations, ensuring high service standards, and maintaining a clean and efficient environment. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a passion for hospitality and a drive to learn and grow.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Support the smooth and efficient flow of service within the dining area. * Consistently strive to ensure guest satisfaction. * Maintain the cleanliness and organization of both the front and back of house. * Accurately take guest orders and deliver items promptly. * Possess a comprehensive understanding of the restaurant's menu. * Proactively promote menu items through upselling techniques. * Report any operational challenges or issues to the Service/Operations Manager. * Follow up with the Service/Operations Manager to ensure effective resolution of problems. * Ensure all preparatory tasks are completed to meet operational needs. * Clean and reset tables after each course to maintain a welcoming environment. * Participate in training sessions to enhance personal knowledge and skills. * Assist with monthly inventory checks of operating equipment and supplies.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Diploma or certificate in Hospitality or Tourism Management is preferred. * Minimum of three years of experience as a Captain or Supervisor in the food and beverage industry. * Candidates with zero to one year of experience may be considered for a Food Runner position. * Excellent communication and proactive problem-solving skills. * Strong attention to detail. * Immediate availability is advantageous. * A team-oriented mindset with strong team-building skills. * Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels. * Personable and approachable, with discretion, reliability, and diplomacy. * A positive, motivated, and passionate "can-do" attitude. * Eagerness to expand skills through multi-skilled training. * Excellent personal grooming and presentation. * High degree of integrity and trustworthiness. * Ability to adapt to a dynamic and changing environment. * Opportunities for career advancement. * Willingness to work weekends and public holidays.
