Description
The Finance Executive will be responsible for creating and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring the accuracy of financial information. This role includes performing monthly bank reconciliations, coordinating with banks for trade finance matters (such as LC issuance and negotiation), and managing receivables and payables. The executive will also prepare and submit GST and withholding tax returns, perform budget vs. actual comparisons, ensure statutory compliance, and assist in expenditure analysis. Additional responsibilities include supporting audits, handling general administrative tasks, and performing ad-hoc duties as needed.
Responsibilities and Duties
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring the accuracy of all financial data. Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure proper records. Coordinate with banks regarding LC and trade finance-related inquiries. Assist with trade finance activities such as the issuance and negotiation of Letters of Credit (LC). Work closely with relationship managers to address banking and trade finance issues. Liaise with banks to follow up on TT payments and receipts. Prepare and submit quarterly GST returns and withholding tax filings to IRAS. Oversee receivables and payables management for both customers and suppliers. Conduct budget vs. actual comparisons and provide analysis. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including taxes and audits. Analyze expenditure proposals, including capital expenditure and marketing costs. Perform general administrative duties and assist with any other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. At least 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles. Strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus. Knowledge of trade finance, including Letters of Credit (LC) and banking transactions. Experience with GST filings and statutory compliance. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management. Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with banks, clients, and internal teams. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proactive, independent, and a strong team player.
