Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to serve as the Regional Finance Head for SEA. The role involves leading the regional finance team, developing and implementing financial strategies, and supporting senior leadership. The ideal candidate will oversee financial operations, ensure compliance, and contribute to organizational growth through sound fiscal management and strategic planning.

Responsibilities and Duties

- Assist the group finance head in formulating and implementing financial policies and practices across the region. - Provide leadership and guidance to finance controllers in the SEA region. - Support the design and execution of finance priorities and organizational strategies aligned with business goals. - Facilitate the implementation of systems to improve efficiency in accounting, budgeting, and statutory audits. - Develop and monitor performance metrics for the regional finance team, ensuring fiscal control and financial feasibility. - Lead budget preparation and monitoring by collaborating with Country Directors, Principals, and stakeholders to gather necessary information, such as admissions and resource needs. - Oversee daily financial operations, including transactions, fee collection, and adherence to accounting standards. - Ensure compliance with financial controls, management reporting, statutory reporting, tax obligations, and credit management. - Manage the timely and accurate closure of monthly and annual books, coordinating with all stakeholders. - Prepare and analyze monthly MIS reports for presentation to senior leadership. - Handle treasury functions, such as monitoring loan covenants, managing funds, and ensuring optimal utilization. - Contribute to the development of business models for acquisitions and greenfield projects. - Lead finance integration for acquired schools, working closely with integration teams. - Collaborate with the shared services team in India for accounting, book closure, and MIS activities. - Work with various departments and academic teams to support campus operations. - Coordinate with statutory and internal auditors to ensure timely audits. - Build networks and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to stay updated on business and economic trends. - Work with Human Resources to enhance functional competency by developing and recruiting talent. - Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of employees within the shared services finance team. - Build and manage high-performing teams by providing leadership, defining roles, and supporting career development.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost and Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA). - 15–20 years of post-qualification experience in accounts, audit, taxation, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and MIS reporting. - Minimum of 5 years leading a finance or accounts team in an organization audited by Big4 firms. - Experience in ERP implementation and process automation. - Previous experience in the education sector is preferred.
