Description
The Finance Assistant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, tax and bank reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and local regulations. The role also involves coordinating with the company auditor and corporate secretary, processing invoices, ensuring timely payments, and managing asset and liability accounts. Additional responsibilities include GST filing, upkeep of the Fixed Asset register, assisting with budget forecasts, and providing support to management through ad-hoc analysis. Experience in full-set accounts and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Carry out daily accounting functions, including receivables and payables processing, general ledger maintenance, and tax and bank reconciliations. * Consolidate accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards and Singaporean law. * Coordinate financial matters with the Company Auditor and Corporate Secretary. * Process and organize invoices to ensure timely payment and receipt of bills. * Provide accurate and timely payment processing, including weekly accounts payable and receivable checks. * Input credits and debits into the accounting system to support payables tasks. * Develop and maintain reports on asset and liability account balances. * Review, reconcile, and compile accounts and costing reports. * Ensure timely GST filing. * Maintain the Fixed Asset register. * Assist with budget forecast definitions and updates. * Provide ad-hoc analysis support to the management team. * Manage Accounts Receivable tasks, including issuing invoices, credit/debit notes, updating the sales ledger, and collecting outstanding debts. * Handle Accounts Payable tasks, such as vendor payments, cheque issuance, and payment vouchers. * Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. * 3-5 years of experience in accounting, handling full-set accounts. * Strong technical knowledge of accounting regulations, policies, and procedures. * Proficient in computer skills, including accounting databases, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other software. * Detail-oriented and deadline-driven. * Strong ability to analyze and research information thoroughly. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Driven, proactive, and mature work attitude. * Fluent in English and local language, with excellent communication skills.
