Settlement Executive

Description

This role focuses on managing the financial aspects of physical product trading transactions, including accounts receivable and payable, import/export documentation (specifically Letters of Credit), and coordination with operations and treasury departments.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Manage accounts receivable and payable related to physical product trading activities. * Handle the issuance of import Letters of Credit (LCs) and the negotiation of export LCs. * Review and analyze trade contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance. * Collaborate with the Operations team to exchange information regarding trade and shipment details. * Track and follow up on payment approvals. * Process payments for cargo and direct expenses associated with trading activities. * Maintain current and accurate trade information within the relevant systems for month-end financial closing. * Provide data on accounts receivable and payable to the Treasury department for cash flow forecasting. * Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Commerce, Maritime Studies, or a related field. * A minimum of three years of relevant experience in managing payments, invoicing, and trade finance. * Familiarity with Letter of Credit (LC) procedures is a plus. * Effective interpersonal and communication skills. * Strong quantitative skills and meticulous attention to detail.
