Junior Sous chef

Description

We are seeking a proactive and skilled culinary professional to play a key role in our kitchen. This position requires someone who can effectively oversee food preparation, guide junior staff, and contribute to the overall efficiency and excellence of our kitchen operations. You'll be a vital link in ensuring our culinary standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Oversee the preparation of all dishes, ensuring adherence to recipes and the directives of the senior kitchen personnel. * Guide and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting accurate and efficient food preparation. * Contribute innovative ideas to enhance kitchen performance, menu offerings, and service quality. * Provide practical training and culinary expertise to the kitchen team. * Manage product rotation using labeling and tracking systems to minimize waste and spoilage. * Maintain clear and consistent communication with all kitchen staff to ensure seamless operations. * Manage staff scheduling during the absence of the senior kitchen manager. * Handle inventory management, including stock counts, storage, ordering, and delivery oversight, when the senior kitchen manager is unavailable. * Ensure strict compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper food handling, storage, and equipment sanitation. * Stay informed about local health and sanitation regulations and ensure team adherence. * Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the senior kitchen manager. * Collaborate with the senior kitchen manager to develop and supervise kitchen cleaning schedules. * Perform any additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food preparation. * Demonstrated ability to lead and guide junior staff. * Solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. * Excellent communication and teamwork skills. * Ability to manage inventory and scheduling effectively. * Proactive and detail-oriented approach.
