Kitchen Assistant

Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to support daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced catering and events environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with food, values teamwork, and is looking to grow in the culinary field.

Responsibilities and Duties

*Monitor inventory levels and ensure necessary items are always in stock *Organize and label ingredients and supplies in appropriate storage areas *Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to anticipate upcoming needs *Conduct routine stock checks and report shortages or expired items *Verify incoming orders for accuracy and completeness *Assist in preparing ingredients, checking their freshness, and portioning correctly *Uphold cleanliness and safety in the kitchen at all times *Follow all food safety and kitchen procedures consistently *Carry out additional tasks as directed by the kitchen supervisor or management

Qualifications and Requirements

*Comfortable working 6 days a week in a kitchen environment *Physically fit and able to handle the demands of a busy kitchen *A team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail *Prior experience in a kitchen or food prep role is preferred, but not required *Able to work independently and follow instructions accurately *Willingness to perform overtime when needed (hours will be compensated in lieu)
