Commis Chef

Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented kitchen team member to support our culinary operations. This role involves assisting senior chefs, ensuring precise food preparation, and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, contribute to a positive kitchen environment, and help deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Provide direct support to the Section Chef and other senior kitchen staff. * Execute all assigned tasks to the highest standards of quality. * Maintain impeccable hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness throughout all kitchen areas. * Prepare ingredients for senior chefs, ensuring all prep work meets required standards. * Ensure consistent product quality according to senior chef specifications, and seek regular quality checks. * Accurately measure ingredients and portion sizes for dishes. * Assist with ordering and managing stock rotation. * Prepare mise en place sheets for briefings, following senior chef instructions. * Minimize food waste through efficient preparation and handling. * Continuously enhance culinary skills through training and personal development. * Complete ad-hoc tasks as assigned by supervisors. * Adhere to the company's Staff Code of Conduct at all times. * Contribute to creating a positive and memorable experience for all guests.

Qualifications and Requirements

* At least one year of relevant kitchen experience. * Familiarity with standard kitchen equipment. * Understanding of fundamental food hygiene and safety practices. * Ability to effectively multitask and perform under pressure. * Punctuality and a disciplined work ethic. * Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
