A unique opportunity awaits a dedicated and skilled culinary professional to become a key part of our small-batch sourdough bakery and cozy café. We are seeking a Chef de Partie, or an experienced Commis Chef ready to step up, to take ownership of both our artisanal sourdough production and the vibrant hot kitchen service. This full-time, hands-on position offers structured training in our sourdough program, making it ideal for someone serious about honing their craft and growing with our close-knit team.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Prepare, shape, and bake a variety of sourdough breads and delectable pies on a daily basis. * Prepare and plate hot food items for our café service, including tartines, pastas, and flatbreads. * Produce fresh pasta doughs and prepare necessary garnishes for service. * Maintain a clean and organized workspace by cleaning bannetons, ovens, kitchen tools, and workstations. * Manage the packing of goods and handle basic inventory tasks for ingredients and prepared items. * Uphold the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene. * Provide guidance to part-time team members and communicate clearly with the entire team. * Maintain excellent organization, stay focused on tasks, and consistently follow daily routines.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Possesses 1–2 years of professional kitchen experience, ideally at a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie level. * Is committed to a long-term role and takes genuine ownership of their work. * Thrives in environments with routine and repetition, and maintains a clean and structured approach to work. * Exhibits a strong willingness to learn the art of sourdough baking from the ground up (comprehensive training will be provided). * Demonstrates the ability to manage their station effectively during service and adhere to established systems. * Is comfortable working early morning hours and weekend shifts.
