Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our compassionate team within a Nursing Home environment. In this vital role, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of nutritious meals for our residents and maintaining the highest standards of kitchen hygiene. Your contribution will directly impact the well-being and comfort of those in our care.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Take charge of preparing food ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping a variety of vegetables, fruits, and other items. * Provide support to the cooks and chefs with simple tasks as needed. * Ensure proper disposal of food waste according to established procedures. * Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen by cleaning floors, walls, and other designated areas. * Strictly adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining high levels of cleanliness and sanitation. * Assist with the plating of meals for residents as required. * Undertake any other tasks as directed by the Manager or Management team.

Qualifications and Requirements

* A minimum of one year of experience working in a kitchen, restaurant, or other food and beverage related business. * Previous experience cooking within a Nursing Home or Healthcare setting would be considered a significant advantage. * Must possess the physical stamina required for the role. * Good communication skills are essential for effective teamwork. * Ability to work collaboratively and positively within a team environment.
