Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced culinary leader to helm our kitchen operations, specializing in halal cuisine. This pivotal role demands an individual with a strong understanding of halal practices, exceptional culinary skills, and the ability to inspire and guide a talented kitchen team. You will be instrumental in crafting delicious menus, maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety, and ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Take the lead in directing the day-to-day activities of the kitchen, ensuring efficient workflow and timely preparation of all dishes. * Conceptualize, create, and refine innovative halal menus that appeal to our clientele and align with seasonal availability. * Rigorously ensure that all food preparation and service strictly adhere to halal certification guidelines and food safety regulations. * Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, providing training to uphold superior standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety practices. * Oversee inventory levels, manage food costs effectively, and contribute to kitchen budget management. * Collaborate closely with the purchasing department to procure halal-certified ingredients and nurture strong relationships with suppliers. * Conduct routine kitchen inspections and maintain impeccable cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with health authority and halal certification body requirements. * Maintain precise records related to food storage, hygiene inspections, and halal certification renewals. * Partner with management to develop engaging culinary promotions and introduce new menu items.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Demonstrable experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a kitchen certified in halal practices. * Solid background in culinary roles within Singapore's food and beverage sector. * Comprehensive knowledge of halal food handling protocols, kitchen management, and food safety regulations. * Mandatory certification in Food Hygiene and Food Safety Course Level 1. * MUIS Halal Training Certification (a plus). * Outstanding leadership, team management, and communication abilities. * A creative, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to delivering high-quality halal dishes. * Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays.
