Description

Interview, hire, and train cooks and other kitchen staff.

Responsibilities and Duties

- Plan and supervise tasks carried out by food preparation staff. - Take responsibility for health and safety of the food team. - Plan food menus, ensuring freshness and appealing presentation. - Stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate them into the menu. - Develop recipes and determine optimal dish presentation. - Order food, supplies, and kitchen equipment; maintain updated inventory. - Liaise with suppliers to ensure accurate deliveries at quoted prices. - Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas. - Comply with current health and safety laws and regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent. - Training from community college, technical school, culinary arts school, or 4-year college. - Minimum 2 years’ experience as a head cook. - Knowledge of culinary trends and menu innovation. - Proven ability to create unique and delicious dishes. - Strong multitasking abilities and performance under high-pressure situations. - Excellent leadership and communication skills.
