Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled culinary professional to lead and mentor a team of cooks within designated kitchen sections. This role involves ensuring the consistent preparation of high-quality food while adhering to all established standards and local health regulations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about culinary excellence and committed to fostering a positive and efficient kitchen environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Lead and guide the work of kitchen staff within assigned sections. * Ensure all team members maintain impeccable personal hygiene and professional conduct. * Prepare top-quality food within a specific area of the kitchen, ensuring all team members adhere to the same standards. * Monitor the flavor, temperature, and presentation of prepared food to guarantee consistent quality and adherence to specifications. * Ensure all equipment and perishable goods are stored correctly and hygienically in their designated areas. * Prevent the use of any contaminated ingredients during food preparation and ensure that any team members who are unwell do not participate in food handling. * Verify that all team members follow proper hygiene and sanitation procedures when handling food, equipment, and utensils. * Collaborate closely with the stewarding team to maintain a clean and organized kitchen. * Ensure strict adherence to all safety, health, security, and loss prevention policies, as well as relevant government regulations. * Possess a thorough understanding of fire safety, life safety, and emergency procedures. * Implement necessary precautions in line with food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP). * Attend all briefings, meetings, and training sessions as directed by management. * Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene at all times. * Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Minimum of primary school education. * Additional certifications from a recognized culinary institution would be advantageous. * At least two years of relevant experience in a similar role within a professional kitchen. * Good reading, writing, and verbal communication skills in English. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues. * Ability to perform effectively in demanding and high-pressure situations. * Knowledge of food and health safety standards, including HACCP principles.
