Description

We are seeking a diligent and responsible individual to contribute to our care home by focusing on food preparation and maintaining excellent kitchen hygiene. This role is essential in supporting the provision of nutritious and safe meals for our residents. The successful candidate will be involved in various aspects of food preparation, ensuring cleanliness, and assisting the culinary team as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Undertake the preparation of food items, including washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping a variety of vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients. * Provide support and assistance to cooks and chefs with simpler tasks when required. * Ensure the appropriate disposal of food waste according to established procedures. * Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene protocols, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation within the kitchen environment. * May also be involved in the plating and presentation of meals for residents. * Perform any other duties as directed by the Manager or Management.

Qualifications and Requirements

* A minimum of one year of experience working in a kitchen, restaurant, or other food and beverage related business. * Previous experience cooking within a nursing home or healthcare setting would be considered a plus. * Requires physical stamina to perform the necessary tasks. * Possess good communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues. * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
