As a vital member of the senior leadership team, the Director of Marketing & Sales is instrumental in shaping the organization's strategic direction and overall development. This entails formulating and implementing long-term strategies across marketing, sales, and communications. In close partnership with the CEO and CFO, this individual plays a key role in budget development, establishing sales goals, and creating financial projections. Responsibilities also encompass setting the marketing budget, devising strategies for attracting both customers and talent, defining action plans to meet sales targets and expand databases, overseeing the execution of marketing and sales initiatives, and managing marketing expenditures. This position demands a highly strategic, data-focused leader with exceptional communication and team management skills.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Contribute to organizational vision, strategy, and growth in partnership with executive leadership. - Develop and implement long-term marketing, sales, and communication strategies. - Collaborate on budget development, sales targets, and financial forecasts. - Establish the marketing budget and create lead generation strategies. - Define action plans to achieve sales objectives and expand databases. - Oversee marketing and sales plan execution and manage marketing resources. - Lead the Marketing/Sales department and foster interdepartmental collaboration. - Promote a data-driven approach to achieve sales targets and identify growth opportunities. - Analyze and refine brand value propositions and differentiation. - Monitor market dynamics, competitor activities, and customer needs, and direct market research. - Develop overarching marketing strategies and plans, reinforcing brand messaging. - Design compelling offers and enhance brand visibility and customer experience. - Conduct customer surveys to understand customer segments and needs. - Direct external communications and manage marketing calendar. - Manage digital marketing strategies, including acquisition, campaigns, and performance monitoring. - Guide the digital marketing team in content creation and social media strategy. - Act as a brand champion and ensure consistent brand messaging. - Support sales training programs and enhance team sales skills. - Monitor, analyze, and report on sales performance, adjusting targets as needed. - Develop automated dashboards and reports for sales and operational metrics and ensure data accuracy within systems.
Qualifications and Requirements
- More than 15 years of experience as a Marketing/Sales Manager within a multinational organization, preferably with international experience. - Strong business acumen, strategic thinking abilities, and a results-driven approach to achieving sales targets. - Demonstrated creativity and innovation. - Data-driven and analytical approach combined with strategic thinking. - Effective management skills with leadership and coaching abilities to support team development. - Expertise in digital marketing tools and techniques (SEO, SEA, website management, analytics) and the ability to manage external vendors. - Proven skills in sales performance management, including analytical skills related to sales funnels and strategies for enhancing sales performance. - Exceptional organizational skills, including the capacity to prioritize and address the needs of diverse stakeholder groups. - Experience in developing and implementing growth strategies for organizations. - Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels, influence leaders on change initiatives, and adapt to the needs of a diverse and rapidly changing organization. - Practical business judgment, a strong customer-centric approach, and a focus on prioritizing the interests of internal stakeholders.
