Description
The Tandoori Chief Chef is responsible for mastering tandoor cooking, using a traditional or modern clay oven heated by charcoal or gas. The chef must ensure precise temperature control, even cooking, and consistent flavor and presentation of North Indian dishes such as tandoori meats, fish, and breads.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare, cook, and present North Indian specialty dishes including Tandoori, Curry, and Biriyani. - Assist in stock ordering, inventory control, and monitoring of kitchen supplies. - Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and safety in compliance with health regulations. - Participate actively in meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development. - Ensure consistent food preparation, portion control, and high-quality end-to-end food production. - Support the Head Chef in achieving company performance measures and kitchen targets. - Follow all standard operating procedures and maintain quality benchmarks in kitchen operations. - Manage live cooking stations and ensure high presentation standards for all dishes. - Monitor food consumption to ensure customer satisfaction and minimize waste. - Collaborate with the Head Chef on introducing and testing new seasonal dishes. - Share culinary knowledge and mentor junior kitchen staff. - Suggest innovative and commercially viable improvements to food quality and presentation. - Control portions and minimize waste to maintain profit margins. - Undertake additional reasonable duties to support business goals as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar North Indian cuisine kitchen environment. - Strong understanding of food hygiene, safety, and regulatory compliance. - Demonstrated expertise in North Indian curry and tandoori cooking techniques. - Expertise in Tandoori, Curry, and Biriyani preparation. - Ability to perform under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment. - Strong customer-focused and food-driven work ethic. - Exceptional personal hygiene and attention to detail. - Enthusiastic, proactive, and motivated to achieve excellence. - Hardworking, adaptable, and open to change. - Passionate about exceeding customer expectations. - Committed to continuous learning with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
