Responsibilities and Duties
- Culinary Collaboration: Assist in menu development, inventory management, and supply chain oversight, ensuring efficient and effective kitchen operations. - Waste Reduction and Resourcefulness: Implement strategic storage and utilization techniques to minimize waste and maximize the use of high-quality ingredients. - Quality Assurance: Maintain impeccable standards of food quality and production, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish. - Procedural Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to all established standards and procedures, maintaining a well- organized and efficient kitchen. - Hygiene and Safety Stewardship: Uphold the highest standards of kitchen and food hygiene, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment. - Equipment Proficiency: Ensure the safe and proper use of all kitchen equipment, providing guidance and support to team members. - Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the Chef de Partie and Commis Cooks, guiding their development and ensuring smooth workflow. - Adaptable Task Completion: Perform additional duties as assigned by the executive chef, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the restaurant's success.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Culinary Education: Possess a degree or skills certificate in Culinary Arts or Restaurant Management and Operations, demonstrating a strong foundation in culinary principles. - Relevant Experience: Have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in modern Chinese cuisine, showcasing your culinary expertise . - Pre-Opening Experience (Advantageous): Prior experience working with a pre-opening team is a plus, demonstrating your ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. - Independent and Collaborative: Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment. - Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with team members and management. - HACCP Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong understanding and practical application of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles. - Flexible Availability: Be comfortable with flexible work hours, including shifts, split shifts, weekends, and public holidays, to meet the demands of the restaurant. - Location: Be able to work in a location that is within walking distance from Bras Basah MRT and City Hall MRT.
