Description

We are looking for an experienced Pastry Junior Sous Chef to join a gourmet bistro and boutique in Dempsey. The role supports the Pastry Chef in daily pastry operations, leading the pastry section, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring top standards in quality, hygiene, and presentation across multiple outlets and events. Responsibilities and Duties

* Support Pastry Chef in managing pastry kitchen operations and daily production * Prepare bread, pastries, cookies, desserts, and event-specific baked goods * Lead the pastry section, plan prep schedules, and assign duties to the team * Assist in creating new pastry menu items and seasonal innovations * Manage ordering, stock rotation, and proper storage of produce * Maintain food safety, hygiene, and HACCP compliance at all times * Mentor and train pastry team members, supporting skill development * Cover Pastry Chef duties during absence and liaise with suppliers for cost control

Qualifications and Requirements

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Pastry Junior Sous Chef or similar role * Culinary diploma/certification preferred, practical experience considered * Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, recipes, and production methods * Ability to multitask and produce high volumes while maintaining quality * Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills * Singaporeans/PRs only
