Supervisor

Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpentry Supervisor to lead our team in the creation, installation, and maintenance of high-quality wooden structures and furniture. In this role, you will oversee carpentry projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. You will also be responsible for guiding and mentoring a team of carpenters, managing resources, and maintaining smooth workflow both in the workshop and on-site.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Oversee and actively participate in the repair and enhancement of facilities as needed. * Take precise measurements to determine furniture dimensions during the design or construction phases of wooden structures. * Skillfully carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelving, and other wooden items, and install them in designated locations. * Supervise carpenters to ensure adherence to safety regulations and the delivery of high-quality workmanship in all assigned tasks. * Estimate and procure necessary tools, materials, equipment, and supplies to effectively carry out assigned duties and projects. * Coordinate and prioritize carpentry work both within the workshop and at various job sites. * Maintain essential documentation related to the carpentry department's operations, which may include time sheets, purchase orders, and work orders. * Construct custom cabinetry and furniture as required for specific projects and perform necessary repairs or modifications to existing furniture. * Adhere to a consistent and established work schedule. * Demonstrate a strong understanding of local carpentry techniques and practices. * Independently conduct site measurements to accurately plan and execute projects. * Operate woodworking machinery proficiently, including routers, planers, sanding machines, edge banders, and post-forming machines. * Lead, mentor, and train a team of experienced carpenters, as well as onboard new team members. * Possess good communication skills, including the ability to create woodworking hand drawings. * Be capable of working in various outdoor weather conditions. * Be willing to work overtime to ensure project completion within established timelines. * Follow daily instructions provided by the supervisor on job sites.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Good physical condition and overall endurance. * Hands-on experience operating a variety of carpentry machinery. * Demonstrated positive attitude and leadership abilities to effectively guide a team. * Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Furniture or Renovation Carpenter Supervisor. * Strong knowledge of local carpentry skills and techniques. * Ability to independently take accurate site measurements. * Proficiency in using woodworking machinery such as routers, planers, sanding machines, edge banders, and post-forming machines. * Excellent communication skills, including the ability to create woodworking hand drawings. * Willingness to work in various outdoor weather conditions and overtime as needed to meet project deadlines. * Ability to follow supervisor's instructions on-site.
