Description

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated culinary professional to join our kitchen team. This role involves the precise preparation and cooking of a variety of food items while adhering to strict quality and presentation standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing food inventory, ensuring proper handling and storage, and maintaining open communication with both kitchen and service staff. This position also includes supporting team development and upholding all safety and operational policies, all while contributing to a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Prepare customized meals or alternative dishes as needed. * Control the temperature of various cooking equipment such as ovens, broilers, and grills. * Retrieve frozen food items for thawing in a controlled refrigeration environment. * Ensure accurate portioning, thoughtful arrangement, and appropriate garnishing of all dishes. * Maintain detailed records of food preparation and usage. * Monitor the quality and quantity of all prepared food items. * Communicate any needs for assistance during peak operational times. * Inform the Chef about any surplus food items that can be incorporated into daily specials. * Keep Food & Beverage service staff informed about menu specials and any items that are currently unavailable. * Verify the consistent quality of all food ingredients and finished products. * Prepare and cook food according to standardized recipes, established quality benchmarks, presentation guidelines, and preparation checklists. * Prepare a variety of cold food items. * Support management in the processes of hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, guiding, and motivating team members, serving as a positive example. * Adhere to all company policies and safety/security procedures; report any maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management; complete required safety training and certifications. * Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance; uphold the confidentiality of sensitive information; protect company assets. * Proactively anticipate and address the service needs of guests. * Communicate clearly and professionally with all colleagues. * Foster and maintain positive working relationships with team members; support the team in achieving shared objectives; listen and respond thoughtfully to employee concerns. * Ensure consistent adherence to quality expectations and standards. * Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. * Ability to reach above and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. * Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. * Perform other reasonable job-related duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Proven experience in preparing and cooking a variety of food items according to specific standards. * Knowledge of proper food handling and storage techniques. * Ability to operate and regulate various kitchen cooking equipment. * Strong attention to detail regarding portion control and food presentation. * Ability to maintain accurate food logs and monitor food quality and quantity. * Good communication skills to interact effectively with kitchen and service staff. * Basic understanding of team leadership and the ability to serve as a positive role model. * Commitment to following all company and safety regulations. * Ability to anticipate and address guest needs in a professional manner. * Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. * Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and move during work shifts.
