Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient individual to join our kitchen team as a Kitchen Assistant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the cooking process by preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, and assisting with various kitchen tasks. Responsibilities and Duties

* Assist the Cook in preparing meal ingredients, including washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping vegetables, fruit, poultry, and meat. * Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, shredding, and grating them as needed. * Ensure all food preparation areas are properly cleaned and sanitized, adhering to established hygiene standards. * Clean and store all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes appropriately. * Quickly move meal ingredients from storage areas to the kitchen, following the Cook's instructions. * Help with unloading delivered food supplies and organizing and storing them correctly. * Clean food preparation equipment, the kitchen floor, and other kitchen tools and areas.

Qualifications and Requirements

* At least 2 years of demonstrable experience assisting in a professional kitchen. * Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. * Solid understanding of food health and safety regulations. * Strong team spirit and effective communication skills. * Excellent organizational and time management abilities. * Willingness to work shifts, weekends, evenings before public holidays, and public holidays.
