Assistant Reservations Manager

Responsibilities and Duties

* Handle all reservation requests, modifications, and cancellations received through various channels (phone, fax, email, etc.). * Ensure all guest communications are addressed promptly, typically within a 24-hour timeframe. * Assess guest reservation needs and determine appropriate room types, verifying availability and corresponding rates. * Clearly communicate guarantee policies, special rate offerings, and cancellation procedures to guests. * Document and accommodate any special requests made by guests. * Respond to guest inquiries regarding hotel facilities, services, and room accommodations. * Utilize sales techniques to maximize revenue generation. * Accurately input and retrieve data within the reservation system. * Designate specific room reservation categories (e.g., complimentary stays, employee discounts, travel agent inspection rates, and wholesale bookings) using appropriate codes and rates in the system. * Adhere to established escalation protocols when addressing guest issues or concerns.

Qualifications and Requirements

* A minimum of five years of experience in a comparable reservations position. * Proficiency in both written and spoken English. * Exceptional telephone and email communication skills.
