Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpentry Supervisor to lead our team in the creation, repair, and installation of wooden structures and furniture. In this role, you will oversee carpentry projects, ensuring both the quality and safety of the work performed. You will also be responsible for guiding and mentoring our carpentry team, managing resources, and maintaining efficient workflow.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Oversee and actively participate in repair and improvement projects for various facilities. * Take precise measurements to determine furniture dimensions during the design and construction phases of wooden items. * Skillfully carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other wooden pieces, and install them in their designated locations. * Maintain good physical condition and stamina to handle the demands of carpentry work. * Utilize hands-on experience to operate various carpentry machinery effectively. * Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong leadership abilities to guide and motivate a team. * Supervise carpenters to ensure adherence to safety regulations and high-quality workmanship in all assigned tasks. * Estimate the required tools, materials, equipment, and supplies, and manage their procurement as needed. * Coordinate and prioritize carpentry work both in the workshop and on-site. * Maintain necessary documentation for the carpentry department's operations, which may include time sheets, purchase orders, and work orders. * Construct custom cabinetry and furniture as required and perform necessary repairs or modifications to existing furniture. * Adhere to a consistent and established work schedule. * Apply a strong understanding of local carpentry techniques and practices. * Possess the ability to take site measurements independently and accurately. * Demonstrate proficiency in operating woodworking machinery such as routers, planers, sanding machines, edge banders, and post-forming machines. * Lead, mentor, and train a team of experienced carpenters, including onboarding new team members. * Possess good communication skills, including the ability to create woodworking hand drawings. * Be capable of working in various outdoor weather conditions. * Be willing to work overtime to ensure project completion within deadlines. * Follow daily instructions provided by supervisors on job sites.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Carpenter Supervisor in furniture making and/or renovation projects. * Comprehensive knowledge of local carpentry skills and techniques. * Demonstrated ability to take accurate site measurements independently. * Proficient in operating a wide range of woodworking machinery. * Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage, train, and motivate a team of carpenters. * Good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to create basic woodworking sketches. * Ability to work effectively in both workshop and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions. * Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet project timelines. * Ability to understand and follow instructions accurately. * A strong commitment to safety and quality in all carpentry work. * Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
