Description
A French-Japanese fusion restaurant is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to support daily operations, optimize team performance, and uphold the restaurant’s reputation for innovative fine dining. This role reports directly to the Restaurant Manager and focuses on operational excellence, staff development, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. Responsibilities and Duties
* Coordinate daily Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) operations * Conduct pre-service roll-calls to align service team and enhance operational efficiency * Ensure cleanliness, accurate order-taking, and consistent guest satisfaction * Supervise, train, and mentor team members with development plans * Monitor product quality, liaise with suppliers, and ensure compliance with HACCP standards * Conduct risk assessments for safety and sanitation compliance * Manage operational costs and implement waste reduction measures * Prepare detailed revenue and expense reports for performance analysis * Support budgeting and business planning activities * Oversee payment processing and financial accuracy * Collaborate with the marketing team on social media content and brand awareness * Contribute to pre-opening activities, if required * Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Requirements
* Degree or Certificate in Restaurant Management, Hospitality, or related field preferred * 3–5 years of experience in fine dining, preferably Japanese or Western cuisine * Strong communication skills, with experience working in Japanese business environments * Deep understanding of Japanese business culture and communication styles preferred * Strong leadership, motivational, and interpersonal skills * Prior pre-opening team experience is advantageous * Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards * Willing to work flexible hours, including shifts, split shifts, weekends, and public holidays
