Sous Chef

Description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced culinary professional to lead our kitchen team and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our food preparation. In this role, you will guide junior staff, maintain high standards of food quality and consistency, and contribute to a positive and well-organized kitchen environment. Responsibilities and Duties

* Take charge of the kitchen team and oversee all daily kitchen operations. * Provide guidance and support to junior kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and plate presentation. * Be accountable for maintaining the quality of all food products and ensuring consistent delivery and adherence to standards. * Manage various aspects including preparation, presentation, purchasing of ingredients, staff training and supervision, and accurate record-keeping for menu items, costing, and other necessary documentation. * Ensure the kitchen operates seamlessly with adequate staffing levels at all times and that all kitchen equipment is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and is regularly serviced. * Ensure that all members of the kitchen team consistently adhere to uniform, grooming, and appearance guidelines. * Maintain positive and effective working relationships with front-of-house staff and management. * Undertake other related tasks as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

* A friendly and approachable personality with a genuine enjoyment of interacting with people. * Previous experience in the Food & Beverage sector is preferred. * Comfortable working in a **coffee shop environment**. * Availability to work **night shifts**. * Must be able to work on weekends and public holidays. * Staff meals will be provided.
