Description

The role supports the EAM of Sales & Marketing and Director of Catering in identifying and maximizing sales opportunities within targeted market segments to achieve departmental goals. This includes driving revenue growth, building client relationships, and supporting sales initiatives to ensure alignment with the overall sales and marketing strategy.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Assist in expanding the clientele by building on existing accounts and seeking new business opportunities from various market segments. * Develop and implement a regular call pattern to engage with key decision-makers in target markets. * Follow up on business leads to ensure a high conversion rate and build lasting relationships with clients for repeat business. * Negotiate competitive rates to maintain strong revenue generation while maximizing average check values. * Maintain consistent communication with Marriott Global Sales Offices and submit sales leads within the Marriott network when applicable. * Forecast, analyze, and report on sales performance, tracking results against goals. * Contribute to the development of the Annual Operating Plan, departmental objectives, and budget forecasts. * Consistently meet or exceed sales targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. * Provide administrative support to the Director of Catering in the absence of Sales Agents. * Participate in the review and development of rate structures, ensuring alignment with market conditions and feedback. * Attend networking events in the hotel, industry, and customer organizations to foster new business opportunities. * Assist in the promotion of seasonal and festive events. * Prepare regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) to track progress and results. * Ensure proper documentation and clear administrative processes. * Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure efficient communication and coordination of sales activities. * Identify and pursue new accounts while nurturing existing relationships to meet the hotel's yield objectives. * Support the Director of Catering in creating and executing strategic sales plans, including trade shows and promotional opportunities, to align with the hotel’s overall strategy. * Understand and adhere to Marriott policies and procedures, maintaining positive relationships with GSOs and actively sourcing leads for Marriott properties. * Report on sales results, strategies, and competitor information to the Director of Catering, ensuring timely and accurate updates. * Conduct regular site inspections and sales calls to maintain contact with key clients in target market segments.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field. * Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales and marketing, preferably in the hospitality or catering industry. * Proven track record in securing and maintaining new and existing accounts, with a strong focus on achieving sales targets. * Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders. * Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM software. * Ability to analyze market trends and sales data to identify opportunities for growth. * Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric approach. * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-driven attitude. * Experience in preparing and delivering sales presentations, site inspections, and conducting sales calls. * Flexibility to travel and attend industry networking events, trade shows, and client meetings. * Strong understanding of budget management, rate structures, and sales reporting. * Knowledge of Marriott policies and procedures is a plus. * Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
