Description

We are a vibrant culinary establishment specializing in the rich and diverse flavors of South Asia, specifically focusing on authentic Bangladeshi and Indian fare. We seek a passionate and experienced Culinary Craftsman to join our team as a Sous Chef. This individual will play a vital role in upholding the integrity of our culinary offerings and ensuring an exceptional dining experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Lead and guide the kitchen team during service, ensuring efficient and timely food preparation. * Uphold unwavering standards for food quality and presentation, guaranteeing consistent and delightful dishes. * Adhere to all local food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. * Prepare a wide variety of traditional Bangladeshi dishes, including complex curries, aromatic rice dishes, roasted meats, and traditional sweets. * Ensure the proper use of authentic spices and cooking techniques to preserve the authentic essence of Bangladeshi culinary traditions. * Collaborate with the lead chef to develop and refine menu items, including the creation of seasonal specials and innovative dishes. * Provide training and guidance to kitchen staff, ensuring they are proficient in food preparation methods and restaurant protocols. * Support the lead chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring a seamless and effective workflow. * Contribute to cost-effective menu planning while maintaining exceptional quality.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Demonstrated experience in a culinary environment focused on South Asian cuisine, preferably with a strong emphasis on Bangladeshi cooking. * A solid understanding of traditional Bangladeshi cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles. * Ability to effectively oversee kitchen operations and maintain a smooth workflow. * Proficiency in preparing a diverse range of Bangladeshi dishes, including curries, rice dishes, roasted meats, and desserts. * Capability to train and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. * A commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene. * Flexibility to participate in an in-person interview and a practical culinary assessment. * A genuine passion for South Asian cuisine and a desire to contribute to an authentic dining experience.
