We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support Food and Consumer Education (FCE) classes in a school located in Fernvale. The role involves preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness of cookery labs, assisting teachers with lesson requirements, and ensuring food safety standards are met. Responsibilities and Duties

* Assist FCE teachers with preparing ingredients and equipment for lessons * Receive and store food orders, ensuring freshness and proper handling * Portion and prepare ingredients according to recipes before lessons * Maintain cleanliness of cookery labs, including washing utensils, cleaning workbenches, and clearing refrigerators * Perform stock-taking of consumables such as detergents * Contact grocers for missing or replacement items when needed * Support teachers, principals, and school staff with ad-hoc duties

Qualifications and Requirements

* At least 2 years of experience in kitchen operations or school food preparation support * Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards * Physically fit to handle kitchen duties and cleaning tasks * Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a school environment with multiple stakeholders
