Sous Chef

Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced culinary professional to join our team as Sous Chef / Assistant Head Chef. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the Head Chef, overseeing kitchen operations, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality cuisine. You will be responsible for maintaining our exacting standards, managing resources effectively, and contributing to a smooth and efficient kitchen environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Support the Head Chef in managing all kitchen operations to ensure seamless workflow. * Oversee the purchasing, receiving, and proper storage of ingredients, adhering to our stringent quality standards. * Monitor the quality and consistency of all food prepared, ensuring it meets our high expectations. * Regularly inspect the freshness, presentation, and temperature of dishes served to guests. * Implement effective food portioning, serving, and purchasing strategies to minimize waste, following our standard operating procedures. * Maintain the highest levels of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation. * Ensure the efficient storage and full utilization of perishable items to reduce waste. * Monitor the freshness of ingredients and track expiry dates to prevent the use of spoiled or contaminated products. * Perform any additional tasks assigned by management to optimize kitchen operations. * Complete other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Flexibility to work during peak times, including weekends and public holidays. * Possession of a professional certificate in culinary arts, such as NITEC, or other relevant culinary qualifications. * A minimum of 3 years of experience in preparing both Western and Asian cuisine.
