Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our establishment, ensuring exceptional dining experiences for all guests. This pivotal role requires a strong leader with a passion for hospitality, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to effectively manage staff while driving beverage sales, particularly wine. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of service, quality, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our patrons.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Supervise both kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless and efficient workflow throughout service. * Maintain elevated standards in food presentation and service delivery, reflecting authentic Japanese dining principles. * Proactively address any operational challenges that arise and implement strategies to enhance efficiency. * Cultivate a genuine Japanese dining experience characterized by outstanding hospitality and guest care. * Handle all guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints with professionalism and a focus on resolution. * Personalize guest interactions and elevate their experience through thoughtful wine recommendations and suggestive selling of beverages. * Ensure strict adherence to all regulations concerning food safety, hygiene, and health within the premises. * Maintain a consistently high level of cleanliness and organization in both the kitchen and dining areas. * Enforce all established restaurant policies and safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for staff and guests. * Develop creative promotional activities, seasonal menu offerings, and engaging wine-pairing events to attract and retain customers. * Contribute to strategies aimed at increasing revenue and fostering long-term customer loyalty. * Manage the restaurant's online presence and address customer reviews as needed. * Maintain accurate financial records, generate comprehensive sales reports, and manage essential operational documentation. * Analyze key business performance indicators and propose actionable recommendations for improvement. * Report regularly to senior management on sales figures, operational challenges, and strategic initiatives. * Oversee and manage stock levels for all necessary ingredients, beverages, and operational supplies. * Source high-quality ingredients and wines while effectively managing costs and supplier relationships. * Monitor food and beverage costs closely, implement measures to minimize waste, and optimize portion control. * Train and mentor team members on the nuances of Japanese dining etiquette, exceptional customer service standards, and effective wine pairing techniques. * Manage staff work schedules, delegate assignments effectively, and monitor overall team performance. * Cultivate a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment for all team members. * Confidently recommend and upsell wines, sake, and other beverages that perfectly complement our Japanese cuisine. * Educate staff on wine selections, including tasting notes and ideal food pairings, to enhance their service capabilities. * Curate and maintain an up-to-date wine and sake list, collaborating with suppliers to ensure a high-quality and diverse selection. * Organize engaging wine-tasting events and develop attractive promotional offers to drive beverage sales.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Possess 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Restaurant Manager, ideally within a Japanese cuisine setting. * Demonstrate a strong understanding of Japanese dining etiquette and the intricacies of restaurant operations. * Possess practical experience in wine sales, a solid understanding of sake, and the ability to recommend effective food pairings. * Holding a WSET certification or equivalent wine education is considered a significant advantage. * Exhibit strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and effective problem-solving abilities. * Proven experience in managing staff, implementing cost control measures, and overseeing inventory management. * Display a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable hospitality experiences. * Must be available and willing to work flexible hours, including shifts that cover weekends and public holidays.
