Description

The Assistant Executive Housekeeper is responsible for supporting the Executive Housekeeper in managing the housekeeping department and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and service throughout the hotel. This role involves supervising housekeeping staff, coordinating daily operations, and overseeing the cleaning of guest rooms and public areas. The Assistant Executive Housekeeper also assists in training new employees, conducting inspections to ensure quality standards are met, and managing inventory and supplies. Strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to guest satisfaction are essential for success in this position, along with the ability to handle guest inquiries and concerns effectively. Responsibilities and Duties

Oversee housekeeping operations on guest floors, in public areas, and in the uniform, linen room, and laundry. * Conduct weekly meetings with supervisors and monthly meetings with room attendants. * Hold daily briefings with the Assistant Housekeeper. * Ensure the safekeeping of all master keys, communication devices, and lost and found items in the Housekeeping office. * Address guest complaints related to the department and implement systems and guidelines to prevent future issues. * Ensure that hotel grounds are well-maintained. * Oversee the execution of the pest control program according to schedule. * Collaborate closely with the Front Office and Maintenance departments to coordinate room and maintenance work. * Interview and select suitable candidates for the department, and evaluate staff performance by continuously tracking and reviewing their progress, taking necessary remedial actions when needed. * Monitor staff compliance with hygiene and grooming standards in Housekeeping. * Empower housekeeping supervisors and the Assistant Housekeeper to manage staff, ensuring all rooms meet the hotel's cleanliness standards. * Assist the Executive Housekeeper in preparing the department's annual budget. * Ensure that all contracts for the department are fulfilled according to specified terms and conditions, as well as renew contracts based on the hotel’s needs. * Ensure that the inventory of Rooms and F&B linen and operating equipment is conducted smoothly on a quarterly basis. * Serve as the fire warden for guest room areas and conduct roll calls at the assembly area. * Perform any other duties as assigned by management from time to time.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Diploma or equivalent qualification. * At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the hotel industry. * Capable of working independently while also being a strong team player. * Available to start on short notice.
